NEATEN is a large group of visual art educators who either work in education, galleries and museums or as artists and artist-teachers in northeast England. This summer is the group’s 12th birthday, and we’d like to bring everyone together at the end of a long academic year for a social event, as part of the regular TFLates at the Thought Foundation in Birtley. Friday 12th July from 7-9 pm. To socialise, to eat fine food, to take part in some creative exercises, see the exhibitions, and to interact and socialise with each other- which we never have time to do at our termly meetings.
Your ticket price £20 includes a delicious meal (made from fresh ingredients) on the premises at Brain Food and the practical workshop. There is a licensed bar, should you want a drink with your meal. Find out more about Thought Foundation at http://www.thoughtfoundation.co.uk/
You can park for free nearby. Public transport (21 bus) runs from Newcastle to Durham and stops outside, and also means that anyone using the train can hop off and catch the bus to the location. https://assets.goaheadbus.com/media/cms_page_media/2019/5/16/Service_21_N21_WEB.pdf
NEATEN is a non-hierarchical group, of people with a passion for the power of art education. Join us in celebrating what we are, in a fabulous location, on a summer evening, and in raising a glass to the future, in the company of your own art tribe! “You use a glass mirror to see your face; you use works of art to see your soul” George Bernard Shaw.
